St. Bernard Study Shows Human Directed Evolution At Work

A study of 47 St. Bernard skulls that date back 120 years has sent shock waves throughout the creation believing community. This study revealed that through over a hundred years of selective breading humans have been able to cause the St. Bernard to have a broader skull and a steeper angle between the nose and forehead. To report on this story the Institute of Origins Education's intellectual proponent Dr. Secular Humanist got an exclusive interview with IOOE's founder, peasant Randy Brandt.

SH: Thank you for your time today. I realize that without a masters degree in biology it may be difficult for you to understand everything in this study.

RB: I will admit that because of the shocking evidence in the story I did have to read it several times.

SH: Tell me, when you first read the story, what did you think?

RB: I did not realize the incredible implications the first time I read it. At first I thought it was just going to be a story about what dogs looked like 120 years ago, but now I realize the gravity of the situation. If we allow this discovery that over time dogs produce dogs to get out in the public, the creation believing community will look like fools.

SH: Not only does this study give solid evidence that evolution happens, but also beyond a reasonable doubt proves that creation did not happen. Let me read an excerpt of the story and get your response. It says, "Creationism is the belief that all living organisms were created according to Genesis in six days by 'intelligent design' and rejects the scientific theories of natural selection and evolution." And, "But this research once again demonstrates how selection -- whether natural or, in this case, artificially influenced by man -- is the fundamental driving force behind the evolution of life on the planet."

RB: I have always thought that evolution was not a part of science because you could not do experimentation to prove it, but now I have been proved wrong. It has been shown that dog breeders can take dogs with sloped noses and wide heads and breed them with other dogs with sloped noses and wide heads and they produce puppies that have sloped noses and wide heads. This empirical evidence beyond a doubt proves that we all evolved from non-living material and even though man was directly responsible for the dog selection this time, we know that it would have happened by itself just as natural selection predicts. I can now clearly see that the St Bernard is on its way to becoming a new super being that is even more advanced than humans.

SH: So do you think that you are going to give up your creation based ministry?

RB: I think I am going to hold out for a little longer on the hope that maybe some of these bones will be proved to be another hoax. I can only pray that PBS or National Geographic does not pick up on this story, otherwise every bible believing church will go the way of the dinosaur... that is, extinct by completely natural causes, as I now believe because of this story.

SH: Thank you again for your time, and hopefully we can speak again.

RB: It has been my pleasure.

Here at the Institute of Origins Education we strive to bring you the most recent information available. We thank the University of Manchester for the following results.

1. Humans can breed dogs
2. The puppies will look like their parents
3. Over time genetic traits will become more pronounced
4. We all evolved from slime
