New Large Dinosaur Xenoposeidon proneneukus Xenoposeidon proneneukus dinosaur fossil

In the early 1890's near Hastings in southeast England a fossil collector found one odd vertebra. This fossil has been in storage until in 2006 a dinosaur researcher noticed it as being "different". Using this one piece of bone they have created a new species named Xenoposeidon proneneukus and have determined what it looks like. While they admit they don't know exactly what it looked like they estimate that it would have been somewhere between 15-20 meters and between 2.8-7.6 tons. While their guess is probably better than mine on how big the animal would have been from this one bone could it be possible that the "new species" trend has gotten out of control? Who gets to determine what a new species is? How can you tell from just one bone? If you found a fossilized Chihuahua next to a Great Dane they would instantly determine that they were completely different species and possibly even different kinds of animals by the bone structure when they are actually the same. Built into the genetic code of all creatures is a great amount of information that allows variability. This variability is what allows breeders to create different looking animals without adding any new information to the genetic code. All this variability is necessary to allow an animal to survive within a changing environment so they do not go extinct at the slightest climate change. The vast variety of animals is not a result of evolution, instead it is a hindrance to the model.

Evolution can not create new genetic information to meet the needs of an environment. If it gets colder out, the animal needs to have a system in place to either slow its metabolism or regulate its body temperature. If the genetic information is not there then that animal will die along with the rest of its species. Needs and wants can not create new genetic information and therefore the vast variety in the animals we see alive today are proof that in the beginning there was all the genes already in place and now they are just getting shuffled around. There is no physical mechanism that has ever been demonstrated to create even one new unique gene, let alone to create all the genes.

1. Different looking bone doesn't necessarily mean new species.
2. We know from living animals that bone structure does not categorize correctly.
3. The completeness of genes can not happen by natural selection.
