What About the Fossils?
75% of Earth's surface is covered with sedimentary layers that were laid down by water. Billions of plants and animals were rapidly buried in these layers during the global flood and turned into fossils when the mud hardened into rock.
Science
You may have heard about fossils being “millions of years” old, but how can you tell how old a fossil is? If you have ever seen a fossil you will notice they are not found with a tombstone showing the date of death. The only FACT you can know about a fossil is that it died.
Science is the process that we use to learn about things. For something to be considered a part of science you need to do repeatable experiments. If you can not observe something happen then you can not know if it is true.
There are millions of different species of animals around the world but there are less than 8,000 different kinds of animals. You can have big dogs and little dogs, short hair dogs and long hair dogs, but they are all still dogs. No one has ever observed one kind of animal turn into another kind of animal. According to real science we can now know that it is not possible for one kind of animal to turn into another kind because of their DNA.
Mommy and daddy monkeys only have the DNA to make baby monkeys. They will never have a baby that is a different kind of animal. Some people want you to believe that one fossil animal turned into another kind of animal (or evolved into a human) but this has never been observed and is impossible because of their DNA. The animal kinds can change into different species over time but the change is limited to the genetic information already available within the DNA. This genetic barrier is what keeps humans humans and monkeys monkeys.
Geologic Column
The geologic column was made up by Charles Lyell in the 1800's (just before Charles Darwin). He did not use observational science to find the age of the fossils, but he guessed the ages based on how complicated the creature looks. This is not science! Today fossils are usually dated using index fossils on the geologic column and not based on any type of experiments.
Carbon dating is sometimes used to find the age of a once living specimen based on how much radioactive Carbon-14 is left. Carbon-14 has a half life of 5,730 years so it is not possible to use it to say something is millions of years old. Other radiometric dating methods can be used to date rocks but they have been shown many times to be wrong.
No one has ever found a fossil of a walking animal that evolved half of a wing or a swimming creature that evolved part of a foot. For evolution to work the entire wing would need to be fully functional. This can never happen because reptiles do not have the DNA to make a wing, and fish do not have the DNA to make legs.
Fossils only form if a creature is buried rapidly in mud or sediment before oxygen or bacteria can destroy it. This means that an animal could have been carried for miles by moving water before it was buried. We even find sea fossils all the way at the top of Mt. Everest and on top of all the other mountains too! The Bible says that about 4,400 years ago God sent a flood to judge man's sin. This flood would have buried many animals and rapidly fossilized them.
God also promised that He will come back and take those that trust in him to heaven. We have all sinned against God by breaking his laws (lies, stealing, lust, not obeying our parents, blaspheming the name of God) and for this we will be punished in hell, but if you repent and put your faith in Jesus, our Lord and Savior, who took the punishment for our sins, God will take you to heaven.
